I want to learn how to make humidors I absolutely adore the one for Phil. Spanish Cedar is a gorgeous wood. I have would really like to try some Boxelder flame wood but not for a humidor. I doubt it would work for cigars.

Yep, nothing beats spanish cedar for that liner material. You just have to be really careful with your finish. I used polyurethane on both humidors, as it acts as a completly waterproof seal. If you dont have a proper finish inside and out, your box will split due to the humidity. I also used type III woodglue as it too is waterproof.

See it dosnt matter what kind of wood you build the case out of, you just need to line it with Spanish cedar.

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. Still I have to wait till spring anyway because I don't have a shop. I have to cut most of my pieces outside on reasonably dry days otherwise it means driving a couple miles and hoping my relatives are home and will allow me into the barn. lol
